STUDENT AFFAIRS ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN RESIDENCE LIFE Assistant Director of Residence Life Description Of Duties A professional level, full‑time, live‑on, 12‑month position. Responsible for executing the department's goals, developing departmental systems, and managing staff. Provides on‑site leadership, direction, emergency response, on‑call duties, facilities management, contract management, community building, conflict resolution and recruitment and retention for Student Housing. The position works in various capacities to create planning and recording processes of all facilities work occurring in Residence Life to ensure timely and quality repairs and preparations for all students. Live on campus and provide on‑call coverage for residential issues, including emergencies, policy violations, and maintenance concerns. Administer Director's plans for leadership to Community Assistants (CAs) and other residential life staff, including training, performance evaluations, and support. Supervise and evaluate Community Assistants, staff training, scheduling, and meetings. Assist with crisis response and provide guidance in emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well‑being of residents. Respond to student concerns, roommate conflicts, and general residential issues. Assist with housing assignments, key management, and check‑in/check‑out procedures. Document and follow up on student conduct cases in accordance with institutional policies. Partner with academic support services and faculty to provide support, counseling, and referrals to students facing personal, academic, and other challenges. Oversee departmental operations by maintaining supply inventories and assisting with budget tracking. Develop and enforce security measures and emergency response plans to maintain a safe environment. Oversee coordinating move‑in/move‑out logistics and key distribution. Work directly with the Office of Student Accountability regarding escalated residence life conduct violations. Work directly with Title IX office for complaints with potential for Title IX involvement. Collaborate with various campus departments, such as Student Affairs, Campus Security, and Facilities Management, to address broader student needs and ensure a seamless residential experience. Ensure that work performed by contractors meets quality and safety standards. Ensure that all residential facilities meet local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, building codes, and environmental standards. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of residential facilities to meet safety and comfort standards. Resolve routine billing questions and complaints and set up housing payment plans. Utilize eRezLife software for all communication with residents. Attend and support larger campus events (e.g., welcome week, orientation) when appropriate. Escort and accompany Physical Plant staff, construction teams, I.T. staff members, outside contractors and others as necessary when access to resident areas is required. Assist with CA recruitment and selection marketing materials. Offer informal mentoring or student referrals as needed. Serve on campus committees if time permits. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. Three (3) years' experience in public administration, community organization or facilities management. Light lifting (up to 10 lbs.), reaching above shoulders, may walk 1-2 hours per day.

Desired Qualifications Master's Degree in related discipline. Five (5) years' experience in public administration, community organization or facilities management.
