Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR) is a nonprofit, family-directed resource center serving individuals with disabilities and their families across our region. Our staff includes parents and family members with lived disability experience, allowing us to provide peer-driven support, education, and advocacy for any disability at any age. FHFGBR seeks an energetic, passionate, and self-driven Executive Director to strategically lead the organization into its next chapter. This leader will strengthen operations, expand community impact, diversify funding, and support a dedicated team committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. Leadership
Serve as chief executive and primary community representative. Lead strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives. Build partnerships & network with community, regional, & state stakeholders, including the other regional offices of Families Helping Families throughout Louisiana. Champion advocacy efforts for individuals with disabilities and their families to align with our mission. Human Resources
Hire, supervise, develop, and evaluate staff to make sure all positions are filled by highly qualified staff. Motivate and inspire passion for FHFGBR to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-centered culture. Resolve employee relations issues in a manner that is amicable for the staff and the organization. Support staff growth and succession planning for major roles. Finance
Partner with the board of directors, bookkeeper, and accountant to create & manage a budget. Provide monthly financial reporting to ensure compliancein all aspects of organizational management & fiscal responsibility. Diversify and strengthen funding sources for long-term sustainability. Identify and solicit additional funding streams with assistance from board and staff to ensure the long-term sustainability and diversification of the organization’s annual operating budget. Ensuring necessary controls and audits of processes related to financial controllership, including multi-faceted dynamics of programmatic funding sources to ensure compliance. Programs & Impact
Ensure programs meet performance goals and regulatory requirements so all programs operate in compliance with local, regional, state, and federal regulations. Use data systems (including Salesforce CRM tools) to track outcomes and improve services. Partner with staff, board, clients, and community stakeholders tostrengthen and expand existing and new programs to meet evolving community needs. Lead development strategy, including identification of grants, donors, and partnerships to diversify revenue. Special attention must be paid to avoid mission creep. Cultivate and steward community relationships to support the development strategy. Guide marketing and brand visibility efforts through multiple avenues including (but not limited to) social media and other advertising. Ensure alignment to and compliance with Internal Revenue Service regulations and industry best practices. Governance and Boards
Work closely with and support the Board of Directors. Assist with board recruitment, engagement, and strategic oversight for both long-term and short-term priorities. Recruit, train, and develop board members on a continuing basis. Special attention must be paid to inclusivity and diversity representation. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THIS ROLE
Demonstrated nonprofit leadership experience (7+ years preferred). Extensive experience in fundraising, financial oversight, and strategic planning. Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of disability services and related systems preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Lived experience with disability (personal or family) strongly valued. Proficiency with standard office software; Salesforce CRM & Quickbooks Online experience preferred. SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range: $45,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience. The Executive Director will also receive a benefits package including cell-phone stipend, retirement savings program, and insurance stipend. EEO STATEMENT
