Coordinator of At-Risk Services/ZPA Director

The Coordinator of At-Risk Services serves as the Director for the alternative school (Zizzer Pride Academy) as well as a support and coach for teachers in the identification of at-risk students and tracking data to improve student performance. The Coordinator works closely with parents, teachers, administrators, counselors, social workers, and other outside agency personnel to enhance students’ school performance and promote social skills with peers and adults.

Responsibilities

Two primary, but separate responsibilities: 1) Director of Zizzer Pride Academy and all operations of the alternative school; 2) District-wide responsibility of coordinating at-risk services, ensuring the efficient operations of students scheduling and attending ongoing therapy appointments at Zizzer Clinic and other at-risk coordinating as needed.

Coordinates operations among alternative schools and/or programs for the purpose of improving student academic success and ensuring district objectives are achieved and resources are effectively utilized.

Create a school culture that promotes the ongoing improvement of learning and teaching for students and staff.

Collaborates with others (e.g. school personnel, district administrators, parents, students, community organizations, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or maintaining alternative services and/or programs.

Develop and maintain programs for identifying students that are at-risk based on various factors such as: attendance, course failure, discipline, reading below grade level, etc.

Work with building administrators in development of Student Support Teams

Contact parents/guardians of at-risk students for the purpose of soliciting their help.

Plan and deliver ongoing professional development for teachers and paraprofessionals as it pertains to

Implements interventions for the purpose of providing support to students at risk for dropout or failing to graduate

Collaborates with elementary counselors for the purpose of identifying students entering middle school with at risk factors

Partner with the school community to promote student learning

Demonstrate commitment to closing the achievement gap

Establish clear standards for student behavior and manage student correction in a respectful and caring manner, in compliance with district policy and state law.

Work collaboratively with the Superintendent and other district leaders to assure system-wide improvement

Center instruction on high expectations for student achievement by establishing a culture for learning, communicating clearly with students, and actively engaging students in learning

Assists in district-wide athletic and activities supervision year-round.

Performs other duties as assigned
