Assistant Director of the Lower School
works closely with the Lower School Director to support teachers and students to ensure the best possible learning experience. Key Responsibilities
Build positive relationships with teachers, students, and families
Oversee the creation of the Lower School main schedule and individual teacher schedules
Schedule and supervise Lower School teacher assistants
Direct after school extended day program
Schedule supervision for before and after school care (Little Pals/Kidventures programs)
Help develop and implement school-wide behavior expectations
Maintain student discipline in alignment with the school’s mission, often working closely with the teacher and director to support students who may be struggling
Support teachers with classroom management strategies and behavioral interventions
Communicate with families regarding behavioral concerns and interventions
Provide support and mentorship to new faculty members
Contribute to the Student Support Team, which reviews student needs and tracks progress
Daily teaching component
Assist with curriculum reviews and new initiative implementation
Provide opportunities for teachers/staff to receive necessary technology information/training
Support teachers/staff with technology usage
Ensure that teachers/staff have the tools they need to be successful in their work
Assist in determining and executing opportunities for professional development
