Position Overview
The Marketing Fellow leads the strategic promotion of WBLI programs, workshops, and initiatives across campus. This role focuses on marketing strategy, storytelling, and audience engagement to ensure Institute programming reaches students, faculty, and partners effectively. The Marketing Fellow collaborates closely with the WBLI Director, Assistant Director, Design Fellow, Experience and Ambassador teams and Alumni group to ensure messaging aligns with the Institute’s mission of developing principled student leaders. In addition, the Marketing Fellow will recruit, manage, and lead a small marketing team of student contributors to support content creation, event promotion, and campus outreach. These creators may be from any of the student teams of the institute.
Primary Duties Marketing Strategy Develop and maintain a comprehensive marketing strategy for WBLI programming and initiatives. Identify key audiences and determine the best channels to reach them (social media, newsletters, campus partnerships, etc.). Track engagement and continuously refine marketing efforts to improve visibility and participation.
Marketing Team Leadership Recruit and build a WBLI Marketing Team consisting of students interested in marketing, communications, and storytelling. Delegate marketing tasks such as content creation, event promotion, and campaign support. Lead team meetings and ensure marketing initiatives are executed effectively.
Social Media Management Manage WBLI’s Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. Plan, schedule, and execute weekly content highlighting:
Leadership workshops Student teams Program outcomes Events and partnerships
Coordinate posting schedules and monitor engagement analytics.
Additional Primary Duties Collaborate with the Design Fellow to ensure marketing campaigns are visually cohesive and consistent with WBLI branding. Coordinate distribution of promotional content across campus. Work with colleges, external partners, and the Ambassador team to amplify Leadership Institute messaging. Manage orders for WBLI promotional materials including:
Signage Business cards T-shirts Event materials
Ensure materials are produced and delivered in a timely manner.
Newsletter Coordination Oversee the Newsletter with the Director and Assistant Director. Gather stories, updates, and photos from WBLI staff and ambassadors. Manage the editorial timeline and ensure timely publication.
Reporting and Communications Project manage and direct the creation of the Annual Report. Work with leadership to collect stories, metrics, and program highlights, work with the Design fellow as well.
Recurring Responsibilities Weekly Social media posting (Instagram and LinkedIn) Attend WBLI team meeting
Monthly Coordinate promotion of upcoming events Track engagement and adjust marketing approach
Per Semester Manage WBLI Newsletter Contribute to Annual Report content Manage Annual Report Project
Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school. Enrolled at least part‑time (one or more credit hours if at a post‑secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term. Must be at least 16 years of age. "Enrollment" shall include:
The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled. The one "off" term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
