At FileScience, we're solving one of the most deceptively simple yet technically complex problems in cloud systems: cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery.
Nobody thinks about backup until they need it, and then it's the only thing that matters. The product is technically complex, and getting it into the right hands is just as hard. That's where this role comes in.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll work alongside the CEO, our director of sales, and our founding engineer on the business side of FileScience. Partnerships, product positioning, market strategy, events, competitive intelligence. The role is broad on purpose. We need someone who moves fast and gets more done than people expect. The kind of person who sends the email before the meeting, follows up before being asked, and treats the company's problems like their own. If you want a 9-to-5 with clear boundaries, this isn't it. Build our partnership program on two fronts. One: channel and distribution partnerships with MSPs and resellers. Two: strategic relationships with the cloud platforms we integrate with. Co‑marketing, marketplace placement, early API access. You'll own both. Run competitive intelligence and market research. Know what's happening in the space and turn that into positioning we can use. Represent FileScience at industry events and conferences. Own the prep, represent us well, and drive follow‑through after. Build targeting and outbound strategy with our sales director. You own the research and the "who to call and why." He closes. Talk to customers and prospects. You're our ears in the market. What you learn shapes what we build. Help the CEO set GTM direction. You're not executing someone else's plan. You're in the room when we decide what the plan is. WHY JOIN US

1–3 years experience in business development, partnerships, consulting, or startup ops High output. You get more done than people expect. Strategic and executional. You can build the deck and send the cold email the same afternoon. You write well and can present to a room. Self‑directed. You set your own priorities and don't need to be managed. Based in or relocating to NYC NICE-TO-HAVES
Exposure to SaaS, MSP, or channel ecosystems Familiarity with data protection or cloud infrastructure Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce) WHAT WE OFFER
