Job Description
Join our dynamic construction team as a Survey Crew Chief. You will be an integral part of a 20-person team, responsible for conducting construction layouts, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys. After developing in the initial months, you will also perform ALTA surveys.
Responsibilities
Conduct construction layout, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys.
Collaborate with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew or work independently in a one-person crew.
Utilize Trimble equipment, including GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, TSC7 data collectors, and TBC processing software.
Engage in commercial, industrial, multifamily residential, and institutional projects.
Perform both post-design surveys for our construction services team and pre-design survey work for other civil and architectural firms.
Minimal overnight travel, typically one night at a time.
Essential Skills
4+ years of professional experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
Field experience in construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys.
Proficiency with civil survey, topography, total station, GPS, land survey, and boundary survey software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must pass a Drug Test, Background Check, and have a good driving record.
Submit to MVR check.
Work Environment The role involves working outdoors in the field, traveling directly from home to job sites with a high degree of autonomy. Minimal need to visit the office, except for meetings with project managers and team members. Work hours typically start around 7:30 AM, with potential earlier starts during summer months. Crew Chiefs average 45-50 hours per week, occasionally reaching 55 hours in summer. The position includes a Saturday rotation, working one Saturday per month, with flexibility to switch schedules with others. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
