
Assistant Superintendent

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing daily field operations on commercial and industrial tilt-wall construction projects. This role plays a key part in coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedule, enforcing safety, and ensuring high-quality project execution from sitework through closeout.
This is a
field-focused role
with strong exposure to tilt-wall panel construction, structural concrete, and large-scale ground-up builds.
Key Responsibilities Field Operations & Coordination
Assist in overseeing all on-site construction activities for tilt-wall and commercial/industrial projects
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain workflow and sequencing
Support daily work planning, including 2–3 week lookaheads and schedule updates
Monitor productivity and ensure work is completed on time and within scope
Tilt-Wall / Structural Scope
Assist with tilt-wall operations including:
Panel layout, forming, and casting
Coordination of crane picks and panel erection
Bracing, alignment, and safety compliance
Coordinate structural concrete, foundations, slab pours, and building envelope sequencing
Safety Management
Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on-site
Conduct daily safety walks, audits, and toolbox talks
Identify and correct unsafe conditions proactively
Ensure subcontractor compliance with all safety requirements
Quality Control
Perform daily inspections to ensure work meets plans, specs, and quality standards
Assist with punch lists, pre‑final inspections, and project closeout
Maintain documentation of deficiencies and ensure timely resolution
Scheduling & Reporting
Track progress against the project schedule and identify potential delays
Assist with daily reports, logs, and photo documentation
Communicate updates to Superintendent and Project Management team
Inspections & Compliance
Coordinate with local inspectors and ensure all work complies with codes and permits
Assist with required inspections, testing, and approvals
Qualifications Required
2+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction (field role)
Exposure to
tilt-wall / tilt-up construction
preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, logistics, and field coordination
