We are seeking an
Automation & Controls Specialist
to support operations at a paper mill in Ticonderoga, NY. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing analyzer systems and process control equipment.
This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in electrical systems, instrumentation, or industrial automation who are looking for a stable, long‑term opportunity in a process‑driven environment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive, proactive, and corrective maintenance on automation and analyzer systems
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues
Conduct calibration checks and system validations
Maintain system backups and documentation of all changes
Provide training and guidance to plant personnel
Utilize remote connectivity tools to diagnose and resolve issues
Maintain detailed service and maintenance records
Manage spare parts inventory on‑site
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical, instrumentation, or electro‑mechanical field
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, or industrial control systems
Basic understanding of electrical systems, electronics, and computers
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to live within 1 hour of Ticonderoga, NY
Preferred
Experience in a paper mill or industrial manufacturing environment
Experience with analyzers, QCS, MV, or process control systems
