Job Description
It’s extremely important that Army National Guard communications don’t fall into the wrong hands. As the Radio and Communications Security Repairer, you will maintain the equipment and systems that ensure Army National Guard units can communicate over secure channels.
Job Duties
Install and repair circuits and wiring; calibrate and align equipment components.
String overhead cables between utility poles.
Repair systems, perform equipment tests, and conduct preventive maintenance checks and services.
Take on more challenging projects, including training and supervising Soldiers, testing equipment, performing complex repairs, and ensuring NSA-approved components are used in communication security/controlled cryptographic item repairs.
Training and Career Path After 10 weeks of Basic Training where you learn fundamental Soldiering skills, you attend Advanced Individual Training (AIT) for 16 weeks of classroom instruction. You learn mechanical, electronic, and electrical principles, preventive maintenance procedures, and communication security policies.
Through training, you develop skills for a civilian career in radio repair, radio mechanics, teletype repair, or station installation.

Requirements
Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
Must be between ages 17 and 35.
Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
Must meet citizenship requirements.
