Job Purpose
The Arizona Golf Foundation is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and impact. As the philanthropic arm aligned with AZ GOLF’s mission of engaging the Arizona community through the game of golf, the Foundation focuses on expanding access, creating pathways, and stewarding the future of golf in Arizona.
The Development Director will lead the Foundation’s comprehensive fundraising strategy and execution—building a sustainable culture of philanthropy that fuels mission-driven programs and statewide impact. This role is both strategic and hands‑on, responsible for driving revenue, cultivating meaningful relationships, and establishing systems that support long‑term success. Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Generation
Develop and execute a comprehensive annual and multi‑year fundraising strategy aligned with organizational priorities
Set and achieve revenue goals across all giving channels, including individual, corporate, foundation, and event‑based fundraising
Lead fundraising campaigns and initiatives that advance key focus areas such as access, participation, and competitive pathways
Oversee fundraising events and revenue‑generating opportunities that elevate visibility and support
Donor Engagement & Relationship Management
Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors and prospects at all levels, including major gift donors
Develop and manage a strong donor pipeline from identification through solicitation and stewardship
Partner with leadership and board members to advance fundraising efforts and donor engagement
Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation across Arizona’s golf and philanthropic communities
Operations & Organizational Alignment
Manage and optimize donor management systems (CRM) to track engagement, measure performance, and inform strategy
Ensure accurate gift processing, reporting, and data integrity
Develop clear, actionable reporting for leadership and the board
Collaborate closely with AZ GOLF staff and Foundation leadership to align fundraising with strategic priorities and programming
Skills And Qualifications Essential Qualifications:
Genuine passion for the game of golf, with a personal connection as a golfer
Proven success in nonprofit fundraising, including securing major gifts and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue goals
Experience using donor management/CRM systems to drive strategy and track performance
Additional Qualifications
5 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising
Experience developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies
Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors
Experience engaging and supporting a board in fundraising efforts
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
Experience in golf, sports, or community‑based organizations preferred
Familiarity with the Arizona philanthropic landscape a plus

A flexible work schedule with some evening or weekend work may be necessary when supporting Association events.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, equipment).
