Senior Grants Manager
for a full-time contract opportunity with the local government in Durham, NC. As a Senior Grants Manager, your focus will be on the administrative and fiscal management of federal funding disbursement and allocation with the goal of maximizing positive community impact. Primary responsibilities will be to manage and oversee the full life cycle of the gran processes, monitoring and tracking costs, overseeing sub-recipients, collaborating with external and internal partners, data tracking and analysis, filing required reports with the Treasury, and creating transparent reporting. This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, on-site in Durham, NC. This is also a contract position but with the opportunity for extension or conversion into a direct employee. Our hiring range for this opening is $31.00 - $45.00 / hour, depending upon qualifications. Responsibilities Include: Plan, direct, and coordinate community engagement activities Manage grant-funded projects/programs to ensure that objectives are accomplished according to federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee both the pre-award and post-award activity for assigned grant funding, including contracting and reporting. Manage federal grant funding as mandated by federal grant guidance. Coordinate budget development, allowable direct and indirect costs, funding allocations, and appropriate approvals. Create new grant project budgets, monitor all expenses, verify availability of funds and allowable expenses as dictated by federal grant guidance. Interpret laws and regulations pertaining to federal grants and aligns grant projects for compliance. Evaluate all budgets and analyze all costs according to budget and ensure work within appropriate deadline. Manage subrecipient grant application and award process including the tracking and reporting of success metrics. Train and aid all subrecipients to assist in proper management of grant funding. Provide comprehensive monitoring of subrecipients. Monitor grant-funded projects and their budgets to ensure compliance with grant specifications. Complete and submit required grant reporting to grantor. Work with Finance staff to review reimbursement requests and track fund disbursement. Maintain grant-related reference resources including funder research files, grant application deadlines, grant reporting schedules, and other information as needed. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and five years of grant related experience. Working knowledge of funding sources and associated requirements and regulations, including 2 Code of Federal Regulation 200 – Uniform Administration Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards. Ability to independently research, analyze, and interpret grant guidelines and propose programs and projects. Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondence, and other related work. Experience with community engagement, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups.
