Role Description The Assistant Director at Steve & Kate’s Camp will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the camp. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing schedules, ensuring safety and smooth execution of activities, assisting families, and fostering a positive environment for campers. The role also involves promoting the camp’s culture of choice and creativity. This is a temporary, on-site role located in Palo Alto, CA.
Qualifications
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Experience in overseeing teams, managing group dynamics, and offering staff support
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and campers
Familiarity with conflict resolution and team-building strategies
Past experience in roles like camp counselor, educator, or program manager is a plus
Passion for working with children and fostering their personal growth and independence
Flexible and adaptable mindset to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
