Le’Fant is seeking a Senior FOIA Analyst to lead advanced FOIA processing and ensure high-quality, compliant releases. This role provides expert-level review of complex records, applies FOIA exemptions with precision, mentors junior and mid-level analysts, and supports program-wide quality assurance. The Senior FOIA Analyst ensures consistency, identifies potential risks or harm, and contributes to the overall effectiveness and compliance of the FOIA program.

Demonstrated expert-level application of FOIA exemptions, including harm analysis and discretionary release considerations in accordance with DOJ Office of Information Policy (OIP) guidance.

Proven experience reviewing complex records and applying exemptions for final release determinations with minimal oversight.

Ability to conduct second-level or quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in FOIA responses.

Experience mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level FOIA analysts, including correcting processing discrepancies and reinforcing best practices.

Working knowledge of DOJ FOIA reporting requirements, including accurate tracking and submission procedures.

Strong analytical and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate exemption justifications.

Must be a U.S. citizen

All work must be performed within the United States and on customer site

Must have the ability to pass the U.S. Coast Guard /Department of Homeland Security (DHS) background investigation,

criteria include but are not limited to:

1-year check

for misconduct such as theft or fraud

1-year check

for illegal drug use

3-year check

for felony conviction

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline

Minimum of five years of experience in reviewing and processing FOIA requests or supporting Privacy compliance, or

Eight (8) years of general experience and two (2) years of experience in reviewing and processing FOIA requests or supporting Privacy compliance. General experience is experience gained in an office setting

Preferred:

Experience with SecureRelease FOIA processing system is a plus.

Experience processing FOIA requests within a federal agency FOIA program or contractor support environment is strongly preferred.

At least 6 months of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Additional Information:

This role is contingent upon contract award. We are connecting with qualified candidates now to support potential program startup if the contract is awarded. Position duties, work location, schedule, and compensation may be adjusted to align with final contract requirements and labor category determinations at the time of award.

Pay Transparency

There are many factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. Annual salary is just one component of Le'fant's total compensation package. Le'fant provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to, health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401k plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. This commitment applies across temporary, part-time, full-time, and salaried positions, complying with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $55,000 to $84,000
