
Survey Crew Chief

Responsibilities
Provide direction and supervision to a two-person survey crew. Train survey crew. Evaluate and report on performance of crew members. Make field notes and file daily survey reports. Plan and coordinate survey fieldwork on time to support project requirements. Perform survey computations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of field experience as a party chief working on land development, commercial and residential subdivisions. Able to demonstrate an established career in land surveying specific to land development and construction projects. Ability to perform field reconnaissance of a site: locating property corners, setting up and traversing control for a field survey, reading construction plans, and setting and checking property monument positions on a daily basis. Knowledge of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, land survey plats, subdivision plats, construction staking, ALTA surveys, leveling, traversing, GPS, total stations and data collectors. Position requires working 40-hour weeks with overtime, as required. Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license. Qualified applicants offered a position must be willing to submit to a pre-employment substance abuse test.
