As we continue to grow, we are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our team. Responsibilities
Source, negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for custom homebuilding projects Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and trade partners Continually evaluate suppliers and negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules Prepare, review, and manage purchase orders and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance Track and manage inventory levels to avoid delays or overages on job sites Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to ensure material needs and timelines are met Analyze purchasing metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Resolve any supplier or delivery issues as they arise Stay informed regarding market trends, material shortages, and pricing fluctuations Maintain detailed purchasing records and documentation Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and project estimating as needed Qualifications
3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in residential construction or homebuilding Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred) Strong negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skills Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of local markets, suppliers, and building materials in the Charleston area is highly desirable Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
