As a Technical Writer Intern/CoOp, you will capture expert knowledge on our press and die operations and translate it into clear, visual standard work instructions that improve safety, quality, and changeover efficiency on the production floor.

Responsibilities Key Projects You'll Own

Stamping presses: Document complete setup instructions, including coil feed, straightener, lubrication, and press settings.

Die sets: Document changeover and die setting procedures, nitrogen setpoints, and preventive maintenance steps.

Transfer presses: Document setup for coil feed, straightener, lubrication, transfer arm, scrap removal, and press settings.

What You'll Do

Plan and conduct onfloor interviews with setup operators, team leaders, tool room, and process engineering to gather process details.

Create clear, visual work instructions using standard Microsoft Excel templates; capture photos/diagrams as needed.

Validate procedures through trials; incorporate feedback, manage revisions, and maintain version control.

Publish documents to shared systems for easy access and adoption; partner with EHS/Quality to align with safety and PM requirements.

Track progress and communicate status, risks, and needs to stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

Currently pursuing a BS in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related engineering field.

Strong technical writing and documentation skills; ability to make complex steps clear and concise.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; comfortable with basic image capture/markup.

Excellent interviewing, listening, and notetaking skills; confident communicating with shopfloor SMEs.

Detail-oriented, organized, and driven to deliver results on time.

Comfortable working on a manufacturing floor and following PPE/safety protocols.

Nice to have: exposure to stamping/press operations, die changeovers, standard work/lean methods, and PM concepts.
