
Automotive Sales Consultant

Dearth Automotive (Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram) in Monroe is accepting applications for our Automotive Sales Consultant role! Responsibilities include developing buyers and keeping/building relationships with previous and new customers. Previous automotive background or sales experience is preferred. Responsibilities
Develop buyers by keeping good rapport with previous and new customers; suggesting trade‑ins, responding to inquiries, recommending sales campaigns and promotions
Qualify buyers by understanding their interests and requirements and matching them to various models
Close sales, complete sales or purchase contracts and explain provisions
Primary Duties
Understand automobiles by studying their features and capabilities, as well as comparing and contrasting competitive models
Update your job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Figure out customer needs by actively listening and asking relevant direct questions
Perform walk‑around with customers and demonstrate features of suitable vehicles
Ensure customer understands all operating features, paperwork and warranties
Establish and maintain a follow‑up system that encourages repeat business and referrals
Report to sales manager regarding reviews, analyses, objectives and planned activities
Review sales statistics and plan effectively to improve sales
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or comparable work experience
At least 1‑3 years of sales experience; vehicle sales is preferred
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Possess understanding and knowledge of equity and values, automobile depreciation and local, state, and federal laws that guide automobiles
Excellent communication, both verbal and written; able to explain technical information in a clear way
Must be able to meet minimum quota according to dealership standards
Possess a persuasive, self‑confident and positive attitude
Excellent mathematical, computer and customer service skills
Ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and results driven
Ability to work 8‑10 hour days
Ability to work outdoors and in an environment with occasional exposure to weather elements
