Position Summary The Director of Food & Beverage is the strategic and operational leader responsible for driving performance, profitability, and an elevated member experience across all F&B outlets at CORE: New York. This role leads and develops department teams, partners closely with culinary and senior leadership, and ensures operational excellence, financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and service innovation — all while fostering a collaborative culture aligned with CORE: values and our collective performance.
The Specifics
Assign and delegate responsibilities to sub-departments, working collaboratively with direct reports to achieve objectives.
Develop and monitor schedules to ensure profitability.
Manage hiring, scheduling, and training of new team members.
Coach and support direct reports, enforce company policies, and provide performance reviews.
Contribute to strategic plans, implement action plans, and establish productivity metrics.
Monitor guest experience, enforce service standards, identify trends, and implement improvements.
Prepare and manage the annual budget, control costs, and analyze variances.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create appealing menus and plate presentations.
Ensure portion control, waste management, and high-quality preparation to control costs.
Regularly evaluate customer acceptance and recommend operating and marketing policies.
Ensure compliance with regulations from the alcoholic beverage commission and health department(s).
Maximize bar profitability through effective portion control and charge accuracy.
Maintain a safe and sanitary environment, enforce standards, and implement crisis plans.
Stay updated with industry knowledge through educational opportunities.

Experience and Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
2-3+ years in a related position with extensive experience in full-service restaurant, bar, banquet, stewarding, kitchen, sales, catering, and management.
Strong customer service and leadership skills.
Excellent planning, resource allocation, and people management abilities.
Thorough and detailed approach to tasks and analysis.
Knowledgeable in safety and compliance regulations.
