Job Overview Trilab Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood draws and other laboratory procedures at a healthcare facility in Carbondale, IL. The role involves accurate specimen collection, patient education, and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, independent work ability, and commitment to high‑quality patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform blood draws and laboratory procedures professionally.
Verify patient identities and maintain accurate records.
Educate patients on specimen handling and storage.
Label and prepare specimens for transport, ensuring integrity.
Communicate effectively with lab staff, management, and healthcare professionals.
Adhere to safety protocols and comply with OSHA, HIPAA regulations, and laboratory policies.
Participate in ongoing training to maintain and update phlebotomy skills.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Completion of a phlebotomy program or certification.
At least one year of clinical phlebotomy experience.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Knowledge of safety protocols for hazardous materials.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity for blood draws and lab procedures.
Visual acuity to read labels, forms, and documents.
Capability to work in environments with exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
Experience
Phlebotomy: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification
Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
