Job Description We’re looking for a Director of Staff Development who is passionate about supporting clinical excellence through education, training, and professional growth. In this role, you’ll evaluate staff education needs, develop and implement training programs, and support onboarding and continuing education across the organization.
You’ll lead initiatives such as safety education, in-service training, and new employee orientation while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. This role also includes managing CNAs and supporting the hiring and development of licensed nurses and interdisciplinary staff.

Key Responsibilities
Evaluate staff education needs and available resources
Develop and implement educational programs, including safety classes and staff training
Coordinate and deliver new employee orientation
Maintain program records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements
Provide consultation on educational methods and best practices
Hire, manage, and evaluate CNAs and assist with onboarding clinical staff
Collaborative Teamwork This role involves working closely with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to enhance staff competency, support quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Valid California nursing license and CDPH approval for Director of Staff Development required
Minimum of two years of long‑term care experience with direct resident care
Current clinical knowledge base
BLS certification required
Knowledge of risk management principles and patient safety practices
Experience with quality improvement programs
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including motivation and task completion
Basic statistical knowledge
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language
Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with our patients, families, coworkers, and community
