Classification & Hours Exempt. Reports to: Vice President of Housing Stability. Location: Bronx Sites. Full-time with regular schedule Monday‑Friday 9:00 am–5:00 pm. Lantern staff may be asked to change schedule and hours depending on operational needs.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000.

Work Location This position requires travel to various low‑income and special‑needs buildings in the Bronx, including Jasper, Cedars, Vicinitas, Lindenguild & Silverleaf sites.

About the Role This Housing Stability Manager oversees operations across multiple Lantern supportive housing sites in the Bronx, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day functioning and coordination between programs, property management, and leadership. The position requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel between sites to support staff and maintain overall program effectiveness.

Referrals and Intake: Responsible for filling vacancies and managing intakes for eligible applicants using funder programs HPD, HASA, ACS and following the CoC HUD guidelines.

Assist with leasing new residential buildings.

Host open houses for new applicants.

Arrange unit viewings with Program Directors for eligible applicants.

Collect subsidy application documentation and determine eligibility and completeness.

Provide Housing Stability team and program staff with approved applicant documentation for move‑in files.

Review subsidy applications for completeness and accuracy before submission to property management and HPD.

Determine vacancy priorities and coordinate timely filling of vacancies with funders, property management and program staff.

Ensure occupancy levels of all current projects are at least 95% and work with site staff to address any shortfall.

Housing Stability

Provide guidance and monitor housing stability issues with the Housing Stability team.

Review building summaries to determine need for non‑payment proceeding and follow up with leasing and housing advocacy staff.

Collaborate with Program leadership and Property Management to support tenants remaining stably housed and reduce arrears.

Monitor monthly spreadsheet report of lease renewals and subsidy recertifications for assigned Leasing Specialist and ensure leases are prepared 120 – 90 days before lease expiration.

Facilitate lease renewal events, open houses, and One Shot Deal applications.

Facilitate financial literacy workshops for tenants.

Team Supervision

Provide training, direct oversight, supervision, and support to the Housing Stability team, including Specialists and Assistants.

Lead the team to meet all compliance deadlines, respond to external audits, and file timely corrections.

Ensure staff performance and expertise meet all compliance and reporting requirements for all NYC properties.

Monitor staff completion of required trainings and oversee the review and approval of timesheets.

Track and approve all staff vacation requests and ensure sufficient coverage at building sites.

Conduct onsite inspection of leasing files and implement corrective action plans.

Ensure Leasing team members comply with agency policies and procedures.

Accountable for deliverables related to vacancies, lease renewals, and arrears.

Other job‑related functions as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Prior experience working in a shelter or supportive housing.

2‑3+ years of direct service to populations such as persons living with AIDS/HIV, formerly and chronically homeless persons and families, young adults aged out of foster care, persons with mental illness, substance use disorder, or medical conditions.

Familiarity with funder programs (HPD, HASA, ACS) and CoC HUD guidelines.

Working knowledge of Low‑Income Housing Tax Credits and Section 8 program guidelines.

Supervisory experience of 2 years or more.

Work Environment This job operates in a supportive housing site and works with a population experiencing mental illness, addiction, disability, HIV, and other chronic illnesses.

Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb stairs, or kneel; use hands to type or handle items; frequently talk or hear; occasionally lift or move up to 5 pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
