
Conflict Review Specialist

The Conflict Review Specialist supports the firm’s risk management and compliance function by conducting comprehensive conflict-of-interest checks and waiver requests for new matters. This role ensures adherence to ethical rules, professional responsibility requirements, and firm policies to protect the firm from legal, ethical, and reputational risks.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed conflict-of-interest searches using the firm’s conflicts database and research tools.
Analyze search results to identify potential conflicts, related-party issues, prior representations, and other ethical considerations.
Prepare written waiver requests to send to clients.
Communicate with attorneys, intake staff, and administrative teams to obtain additional information or clarify search data.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client/matter information in firm systems.
Support the new-business intake process by reviewing engagement terms, client identities, entity structures, and potential risk indicators.
Collaborate with the Compliance and Operations teams to develop and refine policies, procedures, and workflows.
Participate in audits, internal reviews, and training initiatives as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all firm and client information.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Prior experience in conflicts analysis, new business intake, or risk management in a law firm strongly preferred.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interpret complex data and entity relationships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ability to quickly learn client submission portals, and Firm Tasking system.
Commitment to professionalism, discretion, and ethical compliance.
Working Conditions
Standard office hours with occasional flexibility during peak intake periods.
