Catering By Design, the Premier Philadelphia Caterer, is seeking Catering Salespeople to join our growing business. We’re looking for hospitality professionals who share our passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences through meticulous attention to detail, exceptional service, and dedication to culinary excellence. About Us We are a full‑service boutique caterer known for crafting extraordinary events. Whether an intimate gathering or a lavish celebration, we tailor each experience to reflect the unique tastes and desires of our discerning clients.
What You’ll Do: Catering Sales & Event Management
Manage the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry and proposal through planning, on‑site oversight, and final billing.
Earn commission commensurate with experience and performance.
Menu Development & Culinary Collaboration
Work closely with our chefs to understand our cuisine and curate menus tailored to each client.
Stay informed on current food and beverage trends.
Relationship Building & Business Development
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with venues, planners, vendors, and industry partners.
Leverage your network to generate new business opportunities.
Schedule & Work Environment
Full‑time, off‑premise is based in our commissary and on‑premise at our venues.
Weekend availability required; Saturdays are typically the busiest day.
Successful salespeople work a minimum of 50 hours per week; during peak season, 60–70 hours is common.
Workload is tied to the event calendar.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary of $65,000, plus commission.
Benefits may include:

What We’re Looking For: Experience
Minimum 3 years of catering sales experience, with demonstrated success in both wedding and corporate/non‑profit markets.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred, but not required.
Serve Safe and RAMP certifications preferred.
Leadership & Client Service
Strong leadership abilities and a collaborative mindset.
A passion for personalized client relations and exceptional guest experiences.
Financial & Operational Acumen
Proficiency in event financials, including food & beverage, rentals, staffing, décor, and related reporting.
Communication & Problem‑Solving
Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills very important.
Ability to anticipate challenges, adapt quickly, and make informed decisions.
Organization & Time Management
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to learn new software platforms.
Hospitality Mindset
Positive, upbeat attitude and genuine enthusiasm for food and events.
Commitment to food safety standards.
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel to/from events.
