careers@flatirons.bank**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**The position of Chief Credit Officer (“CCO”) is a critical role for the Bank. With responsibility for overseeing the credit and loan administration teams, the CCO is a critical part of the Bank’s lending function.The position CCO involves, among other responsibilities outlined below, being responsible for the entire credit granting process inclusive of the oversight for the daily activities and operations of consumer & commercial loan servicing and loan administration which includes the consistent application of credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers. In addition, the CCO will be responsible for maintaining the Credit Policy and the CECL calculation.
**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:*****Leadership**** Active management and leadership of the credit and loan administration teams, including but not limited to providing mentorship, training and advocacy on a day-to-day basis, and conducting ongoing performance assessments and career planning development.* Serve as the chairperson and a voting member on the bank’s loan committee.* Assist in providing scheduled and unscheduled officer coverage of bank’s locations as may be required.***Policy Administration and Compliance**** Maintain the Bank’s Credit Policy, ensuring compliance with the policy and recommending revisions as appropriate in accordance with the bank’s risk appetite.* Maintain the Bank’s CECL calculation, ensuring that the ACL is adequate based on the methodology and reflective of the credit risk within the portfolio.* Provide support and direction to the Bank’s Credit and Loan Administration Divisions and serve as a driver of the credit culture and processes ensuring a high quality, low risk loan portfolio.***Credit and Lending Supervision**** Evaluate internal processes and reporting routines, and recommend opportunities for improvements in quality, productivity, employee satisfaction, and management reporting.* Maintain strong asset quality of the bank, ensuring regulatory compliance via collaboration with internal compliance and successful safety and soundness exams.* Early detection of developing credit weaknesses, and in working out of distressed loans requiring special attention.* Develop and execute workout strategies for distressed loans, collaborating with borrowers and other bank employees to find viable solutions.* Responsible for the credit quality and monitoring of the Bank’s loan portfolio through the development and implementation of systematic process and procedures to accommodate the growth objectives of the Bank.* Create and maintain an efficient workflow process for underwriting, documenting, and on-going loan monitoring through both the credit and loan administration departments.* Work collaboratively across the Bank, specifically with credit, relationship managers and loan administration, to support the entire lending process.* Oversee the review of credit requests to ensure compliance with policy and regulations through the enforcement of underwriting standards along with the review/approval of loan policy exceptions if appropriately supported.* Lead and direct loan committee meetings including the process of reviewing submissions, gathering materials, and ensuring timely submissions; verify, collect, and disseminate loan approvals to the entire lending team, review/approve minutes, along with any other tasks related to the loan committee process.* Oversee both the credit and loan administration workflow to ensure timely completion and equitable work product distribution while also identifying growth opportunities and potential shortcomings in skill sets for individual team members along with potential deficiencies in staffing.* Provide back-up underwriting and loan administration support when necessary.***Regulatory and Reporting**** Interface with regulatory agencies as appropriate.* Assist with the production and maintenance of monthly board reporting and other credit reports as assigned.* Remain educated and informed about industry trends, community developments, market conditions and regulatory requirements and understand their effect on the Bank's lending criteria.* Interacts with others (co-workers, management, customers, and vendors) in a professional and tactful manner including treating them with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.* Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the Bank.* Perform other related duties periodically as required and assigned.## Qualifications**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS**These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.
