The Director of Development leads all fundraising and revenue-generation efforts in support of the organization’s mission to provide high-quality, accessible youth sports programming that develops athletic skills, character, and life skills. This role builds strong relationships with families, donors, sponsors, and community partners while ensuring sustainable funding for teams, facilities, scholarships, tournaments, and program growth. Job Location / Hours:

The candidate will perform most job duties at the Middleton Campus of The Villages Charter School. Some special events may occur at the Buffalo Ridge Campus or off campus. Hours will vary, but typically Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm with presence at some after-hours and weekend events required. Compensation:

$45,000-$55,000 per year, plus Bonus Compensation detailed below. Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with program needs such as equipment, travel, facilities, coaching, and athlete scholarships. Set annual fundraising goals and manage budgets in coordination with the Business Operations Manager and Treasurer. Expand and diversify revenue streams including donations, sponsorships, grants, events, and campaigns. Track, analyze, and report fundraising performance to leadership and the board. Manage individual and major gift solicitations. Build annual giving and recurring donation programs. Oversee donor stewardship, recognition, and communications focused on athlete impact. Secure corporate sponsorships for the organization and events. Develop and manage sponsorship packages. Maintain long-term relationships with business partners and community sponsors. Identify and pursue grants supporting youth development, sports access, health, and education. Oversee grant writing, submission, reporting, and compliance. Be involved with planning and operating fundraising events such as tournaments, showcases, outside event hosting, and the annual fundraising Gala. Manage event logistics and sponsorship fulfillment. Oversee donor database and ensure accurate gift processing and acknowledgments. Ensure compliance with nonprofit fundraising regulations and ethical standards. Bonus Compensation Opportunity from annual Sportsman Gala:

Gala Donations Received* $100,000 = $1,000 Bonus $250,000 = $2,500 Bonus $500,000 = $5,000 Bonus $750,000 = $7,500 Bonus $1,000,000+ = 1% Bonus *This amount is determined by monetary donations for purchase of tables and tickets and in-kind donations of auction items assessed at actual value of the auction items. DOES NOT INCLUDE MONEY COLLECTED FROM LIVE OR SILENT AUCTION. Bonus Compensation Opportunities for Non-Gala Events:

For all non-gala events, the Bonus Compensation will be valued at 5% of all donations/sponsorships once revenue is greater than expenses. Bonus Compensation for Non-Gala and Non-Event Donations:

2% once $500,000 in donations reached each fiscal year. Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Planned Giving, Annual Giving, and Philanthropy strategies Proficiency in Budgeting and financial planning Experience in leading Fundraising initiatives and campaigns Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community stakeholders Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills Proven track record of meeting or exceeding financial goals and fundraising targets Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field Prior experience working in a nonprofit or community-focused organization is highly desirable
