Position Summary The Relationship Banker II combines expertise in customer service, sales, and operational management at an elevated skill level within the banking team. This advanced role merges teller and personal banker responsibilities, emphasizing comprehensive financial service delivery. The candidate will handle complex transactions, guide less experienced staff, nurture customer relationships, and promote the bank’s services.

Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service & Relationship Management

Greet and engage customers in a friendly, professional manner to build lasting relationships.

Act as a trusted point of contact, ensuring the highest level of service.

Develop and maintain strong relationships through personalized service and proactive outreach for routine and complex banking needs.

Provide guidance on financial products and services that best meet customer needs.

Sales & Cross‑Selling

Actively identify and promote all bank products and services.

Ask targeted questions to learn about customers’ financial needs and goals.

Meet and exceed monthly sales and referral goals by assessing needs and recommending suitable solutions.

Refer customers to related lines of business such as mortgage, wealth, treasury, and commercial where appropriate.

Account Management and Support

Open and manage personal and business accounts, ensuring accurate setup and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Assist with account maintenance, including updating personal information, processing transfers, and check orders.

Support customers with online and mobile banking services, ensuring comfort and knowledge of digital tools.

Loan & Credit Processing

Process and assist with customer loan applications, including personal loans and home equity lines of credit.

Conduct initial loan screenings, gather documentation, and collaborate with loan officers to ensure a smooth approval process.

Educate customers on loan products, eligibility requirements, and loan terms.

Transactions & Cash Handling

Process transactions with a high degree of accuracy.

Balance cash drawer and ensure accurate recording and processing of all transactions.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all bank policies and regulatory requirements, especially in financial transactions and customer interactions.

Monitor potential suspicious or fraudulent activity and report to management as needed.

Adhere to privacy regulations, handling customer data securely and confidentially.

Team Support and Mentorship

Guide newer staff on bank products, customer service skills, and operational procedures.

Foster a collaborative work environment by sharing knowledge and assisting with day‑to‑day operations.

Branch Operations & Administrative Support

Assist with daily branch tasks, including cash balancing, managing supplies, and opening/closing procedures.

Support branch leadership in maintaining security and operational efficiency.

Education & Experience Knowledge Of

Strong sales and customer service skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Basic math and accounting functions

Fundamental lending principles and assessment of a customer’s financial needs

Ability To

Accurately count money

Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures

Stand for extended periods of time

Lift 50 pounds

Explain products and services to current and potential customers

Participate in cross‑selling with Banking Center leadership and other lines of business

Education And Training

High school diploma required.

Minimum two years of banking experience with lending responsibilities.

One year of prior training or a combination of mentorship, military, or management experience.

If lending, must maintain active Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act) registration with NMLS at the time of hire. If not active, associate must attain active registration immediately upon employment; failure to maintain registration may result in a loss of lending authority and possible disciplinary action.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Benefits And Compensation Salary is based on duties, required qualifications, relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance. (Base Pay Range: $20–$21/hour).
