Job Description The Aspire More Director oversees the operational success of the Aspire More Thrift Store and spearheads community impact initiatives. This role is dedicated to bridging the gap between the school district and the community by generating resources for children in need and fostering a culture of service, support, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities Thrift Store Management:
Manage daily operations of the Aspire More Thrift Store, including inventory, volunteer scheduling, financial tracking, and marketing.
Food Pantry Coordination:
Place orders, organize and maintain safe storage, submit required reports, and serve as the East Union liaison while operating as an equal opportunity provider for the Food Bank of Iowa to help fight food insufficiency.
Community Project Development:
Identify, design, and execute community-based projects that benefit the East Union district and its families.
Child & Family Advocacy:
Coordinate direct assistance for children in need (e.g., clothing, school supplies, emergency resources) in collaboration with school counselors.
Partnership Building:
Create and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses, non-profits, and civic organizations.
Volunteer Coordination:
Recruit, train, and supervise community volunteers and student assistants.
Public Relations:
Act as the public representative of Aspire More; manage social media presence and promote initiatives.
Compliance:
Adhere to all district equity policies and nondiscrimination regulations.
Qualifications
High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business, or related field preferred
Experience in retail management, non-profit leadership, or community organizing preferred
Strong communication skills and empathetic interpersonal abilities
Ability to organize, lead, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
