Job Summary Responsible for the overall success, performance, and management for the strength and conditioning program for student-athletes within the Basketball Program. This role will create individualized sport performance plans for assigned student-athletes, combining cutting edge technologies, leading human performance fact-based science, and foundational player development principles. This position will interact on a regular basis with student-athletes, coaches, and senior level staff and will advise and counsel student-athletes and coaches. The position typically will supervise: none.
Responsibilities
Supervise, plan and coordinate the strength and conditioning program for the assigned Basketball program on a year-round basis, including developing speed, strength and conditioning schedules, fundamental instruction and all teamwork organization.
Work closely with the head coach to plan, organize and facilitate the strength and conditioning needs of the team.
Maintain proper strength and conditioning equipment and make recommendations for the purchase of new equipment.
Monitor the designated basketball weight training facilities for condition and safety of equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience Five to seven years of job-related experience. This job requires knowledge of physical conditioning theory, principles, applications, and program design; skills in teaching/instruction, conditioning staff supervision, specific training methodologies, organization, and communications.
Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications: Certifications, Licenses, or Permits required for this job: Master Strength & Conditioning Coach (MSCC). Preferred Experience: Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Travel Requirement Must be able to travel: Overnight travel during competitive season required.
