The Consultant will be a key member of a UVA Health Strategy team that collaborates with leaders across all seven health system entities (the Schools of Medicine and Nursing, University Medical Center, University Physicians Group, the Health Sciences Library, UVA Community Health, and UVA Community Health Medical Group). Consultants provide analytical support for complex and large scoped projects and collaborate with teams across the organization while working closely with senior leadership. You will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and providing insights that inform critical decisions to enhance UVA Health System's impact on healthcare delivery, education, and research. Consultants are expected to develop a high level of understanding and extensive knowledge in financial analysis.

Individual contributors with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Spends majority of time leading the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University).

Experienced individual contributor that has extensive area or subject matter expertise. Limited oversight from manager. Manages projects or processes. Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and often complex. Influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

Consultants work on a variety of project areas including, but not limited to:

Strategic plan implementation oversight and leadership

Strategic planning and business intelligence

M&A, joint ventures, partnerships

Revenue diversification and new business planning and analysis

Special projects

The incumbent for this role can expect to:

Develop polished, written business plans to support the UVA Health strategic goals, critically assessing the needs of each individual plan, and providing content that is uniquely positioned to address the specific question and/or topic.

Identify the necessary data to be collected and effectively analyze the information to garner key insights and develop strategic recommendations for senior leadership.

Appropriately integrate internal data generated by finance, facility planning, and other relevant departments, as appropriate.

Participate in planning meetings to assist in the development of UVA Health's strategic and business plans.

Act as the primary support to UVA Health entities in accessing relevant data sources necessary to develop strategic plans and business cases.

Effectively analyze and interpret the data/information to garner key insights and present the information in a clear, concise, and polished manner.

Assist UVA Health entities and staff in developing ad-hoc reports aimed at extracting relevant data needed by stakeholders across the organization.

Keep leadership apprised of the progress and status of all projects and consistently meet deliverable deadlines.

Provide financial analysis on system wide projects for Health System leadership.

Conduct research on healthcare industry trends, competitor activities, and academic health system best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine strategic plans aligned with the academic health system's mission and vision.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights, feedback, and perspectives on strategic initiatives.

Collaborate on the development and delivery of professional presentations that inform senior leadership decision making.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or quantitative field required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: 3 -5 years relevant experience required (a Master's degree can substitute for years of experience). Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Tableau and SQL knowledge preferred. Familiarity with academic health systems and the healthcare industry preferred.

Licensure: None required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

$67,859.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
