is looking for a strategic and hands‑on
Farm & Stables Director
to lead our Children’s Farm and Equestrian programs. If you are passionate about animal welfare, guest experience, and connecting people to nature, we want to hear from you.
The Mission As the Director, you aren’t just managing a facility; you are overseeing a cornerstone of the Greenway’s mission. You will provide the strategic vision and operational oversight for our herd management, riding lessons, summer camps, and public engagement opportunities.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership:
Oversee all aspects of farm and equestrian operations, including herd management, nutrition, and veterinary care.
Team Development:
Lead, recruit, and mentor a diverse staff, including Equine Caretakers and Program Supervisors.
Program Innovation:
Develop and evaluate high‑quality educational experiences and camps with a focus on growth and safety.
Operational Excellence:
Manage departmental budgets and partner with maintenance teams to ensure our barns, arenas, and pastures remain world‑class.
Community Impact:
Foster a welcoming environment for riders, volunteers, and guests, acting as a visible leader within the community.
What You Bring to the Table
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Equestrian Studies, Animal Science, Recreation Management, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years in equestrian or farm operations with a proven track record of supervising staff and overseeing complex programs.
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of equine health, conditioning, and herd management.
Skills:
Strong financial stewardship and the ability to communicate effectively with everyone from young riders to community partners.
Flexibility:
Comfort working a schedule that includes weekends and holidays during our peak seasons.
Physical Ability:
Capability to handle the physical demands of a farm environment, including walking long distances, riding, and lifting up to 50lbs.
