Quality Assurance Technician I – Whitebridge Pet, Joplin, MO Shift Hours

8‑hour shifts: 2nd shift 2:15 pm – 10:45 pm; 3rd shift 10:00 pm – 6:30 am.

Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency events.

Plant operates 24 hours a day, 5 days per week.

Pay

$22.00 per hour.

What Your Day Will Look Like

Creating high‑quality natural dog and cat treats.

Using technology in an industry‑leading facility.

Working with experienced operators and teams willing to share knowledge.

Challenging yourself to get the job done right and gain transferable skills.

Lab & Testing: perform daily calibrations, maintain lab cleanliness, conduct and document quality control tests (water activity, residual oxygen, leakers, net weights, shelf life, foreign material) and manage inventory.

Oven Operations: operate, monitor, and unload ovens, ensuring all critical control points are met.

Sample Collections: collect, label, package, and ship samples for micro testing, swabs, and product development; manage documentation and communicate results for positive release of finished products.

Operation Checks: conduct and document routine line checks, foot bath/dry quat chemical concentration tests, visual inspections of production changeovers; evaluate and document incoming raw materials and ingredients.

Documentation & Communication: maintain accurate records for product quality, regulatory compliance (HACCP), and traceability; timely communicate any issues or deviations.

What You Have to Offer

Minimum of a high school education or GED.

Preferred: 1 year of experience in a food manufacturing facility.

Working knowledge of computer systems – Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook (plus).

Preferred: previous lab experience with water activity, moisture, residual oxygen, package leak detection, net weights, pH, NIR, etc.

Ability to understand and effectively communicate with co‑workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace (English).

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 50 lbs.

Perform physical tasks for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting).

Climb or work at heights using stairs, ladders, lifts, or platforms.

Wear protective clothing and equipment (safety shoes, masks, glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, hair/beard net, gloves).

Adhere to grooming requirements necessary for food manufacturing.

Work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environments.

Work around industrial high‑speed moving machinery.

Work with potential allergens present in a food environment.
