Overview
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, home of the world‑renowned Skunk Works®, is seeking an experienced security professional to support an emerging program within the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) branch of the Security & Emergency Services (SES) organization. The Contractor SAP Security Officer (CSSO) will be responsible for implementing, overseeing, and maintaining an enterprise security program across Development, Production, and Sustainment activities. This position is located in Palmdale, California.
Responsibilities
Perform individual and team roles supporting all contractual security requirements for DoD programs and provide PERSEC support for Collateral, SCI, and SAP programs.
Conduct security investigations, indoctrinations, debriefs, and visitor control.
Maintain fundamental security requirements defined by the customer/company and program.
Maintain personnel security files for all cleared personnel.
Maintain daily logs, tracking spreadsheets, and local databases for PERSEC activities.
Prepare, process, and review Program Access Requests (PARs) for accuracy and access eligibility.
Process Visit Authorization Requests (VARs) using DISS and/or JADE.
Oversee security administration, management, and operations of SAP facilities at contractor locations.
Develop and maintain positive rapport with government/customer security teams.
Enhance the overall program security posture by leading and participating in multi‑site Program Security functions.
Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative and organizational skills.
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Establish and maintain relationships with geographically dispersed internal and external customers.
Apply business‑minded, risk‑managed solutions to security issues, communicating observations and recommendations to leadership and enterprise business partners.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Final transferable Top Secret Security clearance with an investigation current or CV date within 6 years.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access(es).
Experience providing security support in a SAP environment.
Working knowledge of DoD 5205.07, ICD 705, and NISPOM.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multitask and remain organized; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Prior experience implementing security plans for facilities and security operations.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
Prior leadership experience in a classified environment.
Desired Skills
Profound knowledge of NISPOM and DoD 5205.07 manuals.
Center for Development of Security Excellence SPēD certification or credential.
Ability to manage large projects or processes outside of the immediate job area.
Experience making significant improvements to processes, systems, or products.
Strong multitasking and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; effective communication with parties inside and outside of own job function.
Customer‑service orientation for internal and external stakeholders.
Working knowledge/experience of DISS, JADE, Scattered Castles, ACCS, SIMS, and SESIDS software.
Availability for on‑call and non‑traditional work hours or odd shifts as required.
Experience with the accreditation process of SAPFs, including new construction and associated Construction Security Plans (CSP).
Knowledge of requirements supporting the development and maintenance of a Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment, acquisition and maintenance of an Authority to Operate (ATO), and responsibilities of the ISSM/ISSO position.
Experience hosting and managing large external customer meetings, overseeing responsibilities as a Top Secret Control Officer.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Security Clearance TS/SCI. The position requires a government security clearance and the applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
