Standard (M-F, 8-5) Job Duties and Responsibilities
Model Development:
Develop and implement advanced power system models, including electricity market simulation tools, to support research objectives. Create power system techno-economic models to analyze and improve the reliability and efficiency of the electrical grid. Design and implement power system planning models for long-term infrastructure assessment and expansion planning. Mentorship and Guidance:
Provide mentorship and guidance to undergraduate and graduate students participating in research projects. Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment to support the academic and professional development of students. Proposal Development:
Assist in the development of research proposals for funding opportunities, including federal grants, foundation grants, and industry-sponsored projects. Collaborate with the principal investigator and research team to conceptualize, structure, and write compelling research proposals. Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Required Education: Doctorate degree in related field. Required Experience: No previous work experience required. Equivalency: None. Required Certification/License: Equivalent Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Special Certification/Licensure: Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Environment:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Physical Effort:
Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day. Lifting Requirements:
Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking. Risk:
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
