Intern - Technical Sales Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION Location: Onsite in Saxonburg, PA.

Role Type: 10–14 week summer or semester internship.

Coherent Sales & Technical Support Intern Key Responsibilities

Sales/Marketing Data Analysis: Analyze raw data from internal databases to support sales and marketing strategies.

Technical Support & Documentation: Organize, update, and maintain product specifications, datasheets, and parameter tables on digital platforms.

Customer Interaction: Assist in managing customer inquiries, supporting pre/post-sale activities, and documenting communication.

Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to ensure accuracy of product information.

Operational Support: Support sales operations through CRM management, lead identification, or email campaigns.

Qualifications

Education: Pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or Physics (typically 3rd or 4th year).

Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data manipulation), attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Traits: High motivation, ability to work independently, and a desire to learn in a technical, fast‑paced environment.

Software/Tools: Familiarity with CRM systems (like Salesforce or Oracle) is a plus. Experience working with AI Tools.

Working Conditions

This role will be based on‑site in Saxonburg, PA.

Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.

Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.

Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.

Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. EHS standards.

Quality & Environmental Responsibilities Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
