What You’ll Do
Hire and screen employees.
Direct and coordinate the activities of security officers, carrying out managerial responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding or disciplining employees, and addressing complaints.
Implement and manage government‑mandated safety and security programs (e.g., bloodborne pathogen and hazardous communications training).
Organize and manage all department‑generated records.
Establish daily procedures and responsibilities for Safety & Security personnel.
Conduct routine safety and security inspections and administer an ongoing safety inspection program.
Conduct internal criminal and civil investigations and act as liaison to Law Enforcement and Emergency Services.
Act as contact person and liaison to OSHA and other government health/safety organizations.
Coordinate and instruct employee health, safety, and security training programs with the corporate division of risk management and the Regional Director of Security.
Manage interdepartmental Safety & Security programs.
Fill in for subordinate managers and hourly employees as needed.
Act on behalf of the Corporate Director of Security or other corporate representatives as directed.
Serve as task‑force coordinator for special events requiring additional security services.
Facilitate and chair the Occupational Safety and Health Committee.
Retain all written communications between management and the Safety Committee.
Complete and distribute accurate minutes of committee meetings and final reports.
Maintain an effective driver training and licensing program for company vehicles.
Implement safety inspection programs.
Attend and participate in meetings of Operational, Staff, Business, Executive, Safety Committee, and Risk Management.
Be on call and available to respond to incidents 24 hours a day.
Respond to critical incidents and assume control of incident scenes.
Administer progressive disciplinary actions to subordinate employees as required under corporate policy.
Interact and assist guests and employees.
Prepare and maintain weekly scheduling of all security personnel.
Prepare daily work assignments for line personnel.
Monitor, insure accuracy of, and maintain records of time‑keeping for all subordinate security personnel.
Ensure subordinates perform duties in accordance with corporate policies and state law.
Perform duties of subordinate officers as required.
Coordinate field training for new officers.
Ensure all officers comply with state laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
Oversee operation and maintenance of security systems, electronic lock security, and key‑control access systems.
Respond to fire/burglar alarms.
Maintain resort surveillance (vehicle/foot) for pools, restaurants, and all venues.
Maintain data collection and reporting for Tour Guard System.
Implement inventory controls and loss‑management systems, and maintain logs of security inventory and assets.
Maintain inventory of equipment for new employees or replacements as needed.
Manage the Lost & Found Department.
Oversee the departmental budget.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Fifth‑year college or university program certificate; or at least four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional certification from a government‑approved public safety training facility.
Must be able to work any shift (day or night) in all weather conditions and be on call 24 hours.
Previous hospitality experience preferred but not required.
Customer service experience.
