Associate Benefits Consultant
Genesys Health, Atlanta, GA, United States
At Genesys Health, we're advocates, change agents, disruptors, and solutionists—and we mean that. Our business is providing benefits for employees. Our passion is the employees themselves. Founded on the belief that high-quality care and high-quality service can coexist, we're a data‑driven, people‑focused consulting firm that works exclusively with self‑funded and alternative‑funded employers who are ready to stop accepting the status quo.
We don't just advise. We identify. We quantify. We strategize. We implement. Our process is rooted in data, facts, actuaries, and true partnership—built to bend the trend, remove unnecessary waste from employer health plans, and drive real, measurable results for both organizations and the people they employ. If you're looking to be part of a firm that changes lives while driving the bottom line, you've found it.
THE OPPORTUNITY We're growing, and we're looking for a sharp, curious Associate Benefits Consultant to join our client service team. This is a hands‑on role with real responsibility from day one—you'll work directly alongside senior consultants supporting a portfolio of mid‑to‑large self‑funded employers. If you want to build a meaningful career in healthcare benefits consulting without the bureaucracy of a large brokerage, this is your seat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support senior account managers across a portfolio of self‑funded employer clients (500–5,000+ lives)
Coordinate open enrollment timelines, carrier implementations, and benefit change requests
Prepare client‑facing deliverables including renewal summaries, benchmarking reports, plan comparison matrices, and stewardship decks
Manage day‑to‑day client communications, vendor follow‑ups, and service request tracking
Assist with stop‑loss RFP coordination, carrier submissions, and proposal analysis
Pull and organize claims data and utilization reports in support of financial modeling and plan design review
Research compliance topics (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HDHPs, HSAs) and summarize implications for clients
Support new business development activities including prospect research and pitch preparation
Develop working knowledge of self‑funded plan mechanics, TPA relationships, and alternative funding strategies
WHAT YOU BRING
1–3 years of experience in employee benefits, health insurance, or related field (brokerage, TPA, carrier, or consulting background all considered)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail—you manage deadlines without being reminded
Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting with client HR teams and C‑suite contacts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Curiosity about self‑funded health plans, reference‑based pricing, stop‑loss insurance, and healthcare cost drivers
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
WHY GENESYS HEALTH
Work directly with experienced consultants—no siloed support functions or hand‑off culture
Build deep knowledge of self‑funded benefits strategy faster than you would anywhere else
Boutique environment means your work has visible impact and your growth is accelerated
Collaborative, no‑nonsense team that values competence, intellectual honesty, and getting things done
