Benefits Consultant
Genesys Health, Atlanta, GA, United States
Genesys Health is not your average benefits broker—and we're proud of that. We are advocates, change agents, disruptors, and solutionists, built for employers who are ready to demand more from their benefits program. Our business is providing benefits for employees. Our passion is the employees themselves. That distinction drives everything we do.
We specialize in self-funded and alternative-funded health plans, and our approach is rooted in data, facts, actuaries, and true partnership. We evaluate. We quantify. We strategize. We implement. The result: real dollar savings, smarter plan design, and benefit programs that make a tangible difference in people's lives. If you want to do work that changes lives while driving the bottom line, Genesys is where that happens.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're hiring a Benefits Consultant to join our client experience team, reporting directly to the VP of Client Experience. This is a client-facing account management role for someone with solid benefits experience who is ready to take real ownership of employer relationships in the self-funded space. You'll manage day-to-day client activity, lead key deliverables, and work collaboratively with senior consultants and our analytics team to drive outcomes that matter. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Manage an assigned portfolio of self-funded employer clients (500–5,000+ lives) as primary day-to-day contact. Coordinate and support the annual renewal process: stop‑loss marketing, plan design review, carrier comparisons, and open enrollment preparation. Prepare and deliver client-facing materials including renewal summaries, utilization reports, benchmarking analyses, and stewardship presentations. Manage vendor and carrier relationships on behalf of clients—including TPAs, stop‑loss carriers, PBMs, and ancillary providers. Identify service issues, elevate appropriately to the VP of Client Experience, and follow through to resolution. Support implementation of new client accounts including onboarding, TPA transitions, and benefit administration setup. Collaborate with the internal data analytics team on plan performance reviews, financial modeling, and cost containment strategy. Assist with compliance topics including ACA reporting, ERISA requirements, COBRA administration, and SPD reviews. Participate in new business activity including client referrals, finalist meeting support, and prospect presentations. WHAT YOU BRING
3–5 years of experience in employee benefits with meaningful exposure to self-funded or level-funded employer health plans. Working knowledge of self-funded plan mechanics: stop‑loss insurance, TPA relationships, plan year financials, and alternative funding structures. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously without dropping the ball. Comfortable preparing and presenting deliverables to HR directors, CFOs, and senior leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with benefits administration platforms a plus. Familiarity with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and common self-funded compliance requirements. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, or related field preferred. WHY GENESYS HEALTH
Direct mentorship from senior consultants and the VP of Client Experience in a firm built entirely around the self-funded market. Boutique environment means real client ownership, faster growth, and direct visibility with firm leadership. Collaborative, no-nonsense team that values accountability, curiosity, and doing right by clients. Clear path to senior consulting responsibility as the firm grows.
