Position Description
Junior Specialist – Yue Lab
The Yue Lab at UCSF is seeking a Junior Specialist to perform research independently and collaboratively, including designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments under the mentorship of the PI. Experiments mainly include whole‑animal tissue clearing, lightsheet imaging, computational analyses, animal behavioral tests, and may involve other research tasks as the project evolves.
Responsibilities
Perform research independently and collaboratively, including designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments.
Conduct whole‑animal tissue clearing and lightsheet imaging, run computational analyses, and carry out animal behavioral tests.
Manage lab operations: organize the lab, maintain animal husbandry, place orders, handle administrative work, and manage equipment.
Required Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, or a related field, or at least four years of research experience.
Hands‑on research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in whole‑animal tissue clearing, lightsheet or confocal imaging and data processing.
Experience with basic animal husbandry and behavioral tests.
