About NEWWA Founded in 1882, NEWWA (New England Water Works Association) is a member‑driven association serving the drinking water profession across six New England states. The organization hosts courses, conferences, and specialty symposia while fostering networking, education, and advocacy for water utilities, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, regulators, and academia. Job Overview The Administrative & Marketing Assistant will promote NEWWA’s programs—including membership, publications, conferences, and training courses—by ensuring consistent and effective communication with members and students. The role involves marketing, event coordination, graphic design, website maintenance, and support for training logistics and administration. Key Responsibilities Training Program Marketing & Support Plan and execute marketing initiatives for NEWWA training programs, symposia, and certification courses. Create promotional content such as emails, flyers, website and social media updates. Assist with editing and branding training videos for online courses. Ensure marketing materials and displays are current for on‑site courses. Coordinate training logistics: locations, venue details, adjunct faculty schedules, student check‑in, classroom setup, and instructor support. Serve as a proctor for select training courses and certification exams. Event Promotion & Coordination Assist the Events & Marketing Manager in promoting conferences, symposia, and meetings via email, social media, website, and print. Develop event marketing materials such as brochures, programs, signage, and graphics. Travel to meetings and events across New England, taking photos for marketing use. Support event registration, proctoring, and other operational duties as needed. Organize and transport marketing collateral and promotional materials. Backflow & Cross‑Connection Control Marketing Schedule training locations and coordinate with adjunct faculty. Develop targeted marketing campaigns for specialty backflow and cross‑connection control programs. Create materials highlighting program importance to stakeholders. Collaborate with trainers and technical experts to convey benefits accurately. Graphic Design Design marketing materials using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva. Ensure designs follow NEWWA’s branding guidelines and are visually engaging. Produce infographics, presentations, and other visual assets. Website & General Marketing Support Maintain the association’s website by updating content, events, and resources. Assist with marketing campaigns supporting membership, events, and training programs. Provide communication support across NEWWA departments and initiatives. Social Media & Digital Communications Develop and implement social media strategies to engage members, recruit prospective members and students, and increase online presence. Create, schedule, and monitor content on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Analyze engagement metrics and recommend improvements. Publications Assist the Events and Marketing Manager in identifying potential advertisers for newsletters and digital platforms. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field preferred. 0‑3 years of marketing/administration experience, preferably in nonprofit, association, or educational settings. Background in customer service, reception, or office coordination. Proficiency in graphic design software: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Zoom; training in Brightspace expected. Strong writing, editing, communication, and social media skills. Familiarity with water industry topics or technical programs is a plus. Key Competencies Professional conduct and self‑management. Highly organized; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Open to direct outreach and phone communication. Working Conditions The role alternates between the NEWWA office, remote work, and travel to meeting and conference locations. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Overnight stays up to five nights may be required; expenses will be reimbursed.
