Retail Personal Banker I – Munster, IN Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. The role focuses on using consultative sales to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers and prospects, while processing teller transactions and supporting platform staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.

Maintain in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.

Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.

Focus on cross‑selling to existing customers and participate in outside sales activities (membership presentations, business calls, community financial literacy events).

Establish close relationships with assigned business partners (mortgage, small business, commercial & investment) and refer customers for holistic solutions.

Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, contributing to year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the financial center P&L.

Provide guidance to CSRs on the sales and referral process.

Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.

Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.

Maintain trust and confidentiality of all business information.

Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.

Adhere to policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of retail products.

Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.

Participate in the opening/closing process of the financial center or bank mart as directed by the manager.

Keep up to date on retail procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.

Supervisory Responsibilities None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

College degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred experience in the financial industry.

Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new customers and cross‑sell.

Proficiency in advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.

Professional appearance and communication skills.

Working knowledge of retail policies and procedures to exercise sound judgment.

Requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment via the NMLS.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment.

Extended computer screen viewing.

Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.

Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
