Fatherhood Outreach Specialist 3
Location:
DCSS office located in Athens, Clarke County, GA.
Pay Grade:
G
Responsibilities
Maintain a working knowledge of local and county resources.
Connect participants to community resources such as medical, mental health, chemical dependency, employment and training programs, food shelves, public assistance, SSI and SSDI, childcare, transportation, subsidized housing opportunities and legal assistance.
Attend monthly and quarterly network meetings within the service area.
Promote the Georgia Fatherhood Program by establishing relationships with local schools, service providers, community groups, churches, senior programs, youth programs, and others.
Establish child support obligations and ensure such obligations are met.
Coordinate child support activities with legal, judicial, and public organizations, and conduct administrative hearings.
Communicate with clients and constituents via telephone, email, and direct contact to ensure support obligations are met.
Manage a caseload to ensure child support obligations are met.
Supervise other case managers or serve as a team leader as required.
Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Exceptional critical thinking, good judgment, and decision‑making to monitor and manage a caseload.
Use active listening and negotiation skills in customer service interactions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other standard tools.
Required Eligibility
High school diploma or GED AND three (3) years of direct job‑related experience.
OR
Two (2) years of experience as a Fatherhood Outreach Specialist 2 (SST101) or equivalent position.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with state, local, or federal government.
Mentoring and coaching experience.
Ability to work independently.
