You Belong Position Overview

The Vocational Training & Café Director plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission of You Belong by creating meaningful vocational opportunities for adults living with disabilities. This individual will oversee and grow our vocational training program while managing the day-to-day operations of our café. This role combines hands-on leadership, program development, and relational support—working directly alongside individuals of all abilities to foster dignity, skill-building, and community belonging. Key Responsibilities

Vocational Training Program Leadership

Oversee and develop You Belong’s vocational training program for adults with disabilities Create structured, supportive, and engaging work experiences tailored to individual abilities both in the cafe and in other areas of program Train, mentor, and support program participants in building job and life skills Collaborate with families, caregivers, and staff to ensure individualized success plans Track participant progress and celebrate milestones and achievements Café Operations Management

Manage the daily operations of the You Belong café Supervise and support café staff, including individuals with disabilities Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and high-quality customer experience Oversee scheduling, inventory, cleanliness, and food safety standards Maintain efficient and sustainable café systems and processes *This is an area where we are looking for an individual with experience or is willing to learn the basic standards for cafe operations. Team Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with the Executive Director and Director Assistant Participate in team meetings, planning, and organizational development Help cultivate a positive, mission-driven team culture Support volunteers and community partners involved in the café or program Qualifications

Passion for inclusion and empowering individuals living with disabilities Experience in vocational training, education, human services, or a related field (preferred) Experience in food service, café management, or small business operations (preferred) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and lead with patience and creativity Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Key Traits We’re Looking For
