Consumer Loan Specialist

Job Summary The Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist plays a critical behind-the-scenes role supporting loan operations and frontline teams. This position focuses on processing post‑origination loan changes and providing end‑to‑end support for product claims, purchases, and cancellations. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, fast‑paced, and comfortable working in a back‑office financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support Consumer Loan Servicing in achieving departmental goals and service level standards.

Process bankruptcy‑related requests, including filing notifications, proofs of claim, reaffirmations, and other related account maintenance.

Prepare documentation and update loan records for approved modifications, balloon payments, and extension agreements.

Coordinate and communicate with third‑party partners regarding bankruptcy matters and loan product claims, purchases, and cancellations.

Provide timely guidance and problem‑solving support to frontline staff via email and Microsoft Teams.

Review, sort, and file incoming on‑site mail related to document imaging.

Respond to internal inquiries related to loan products, policies, and procedures.

Collaborate with team members to deliver a best‑in‑class member experience.

Meet or exceed established productivity and quality benchmarks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical & Professional Skills

Strong data entry and administrative support experience.

Consumer loan servicing or back‑office financial services experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce is a plus.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Relevant Experience

Financial services or banking environment.

Prior experience as a bank teller, loan clerk, or loan servicing specialist.

Experience supporting loan servicing processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Experience with loan‑related insurance products or product servicing.

Familiarity with bankruptcy or claims processing.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vernon Hills, IL.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
