Job Title Relationship Banker
Job Summary The Relationship Banker will primarily focus on product sales and exceptional customer service. The associate develops new customer relationships and strengthens existing relationships by ensuring each customer knows and offers appropriate products and services to meet their existing and future financial needs. The associate provides expert product advice, clear and concise directions on using self-service banking solutions, transacts business accurately, and provides account servicing and problem resolution per established procedures and regulations. This leveled position begins at Level 1 and advances to Level 3; upon successful completion of all three levels, an opportunity to advance into the Relationship Banker 4 leadership position may exist.
Levels
Level 1 – Training: Primary focus on training and development while working with a seasoned mentor. Promotion to Level 2 depends on completion of all training.
Level 2 – Proficient: Works independently on routine tasks and with general guidance on complex tasks. Demonstrates superior product knowledge and excellent needs-based selling skills. Advancement to Level 3 is recommended by Branch Manager or Regional Management and upon demonstrated proficiency in all performance expectations.
Level 3 – Advanced: Demonstrates independent action and high initiative, resolves problems, develops recommendations and determines new task courses. Tasks may be complex or highly specialized. Also serves as a mentor to Level 1 associates.
What You Will Do
Contribute to achieving branch sales goals through a consultative sales approach with new and existing customers, following the sales process defined in the CFB Retail Sales Playbook. Identify customer financial needs and offer appropriate solutions.
Proactively make outbound calls to generate sales to strengthen further the customer relationship.
Identify opportunities to sell consumer loans, accept consumer loan applications and facilitate loan closings. Work effectively with the centralized underwriting department.
Deliver consistent, exceptional customer service by greeting customers promptly, smiling, introducing yourself, using eye contact, and thanking the customer. Acknowledge complaints and follow the established complaint process.
Open and process simple, moderate, or highly complex deposit accounts.
Answer and assist customers’ questions and concerns, including helping customers with deposit risk management and day-to-day banking business.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services, including digital services and delivery options. Support customer usage of products and services that best meet their needs. Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products to sell bank products effectively.
Participate in branch promotions and marketing initiatives as directed.
Use sound judgment in applying bank standards, policies, and procedures regarding customers.
Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program. Complete compliance training, adhere to internal procedures, report violations, and report suspicious activity.
Toolbox for Success Level 1
High School Diploma or GED required.
Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or ability to register within 30 days required.
Demonstrated sales and customer service experience preferred.
Financial service provider experience preferred.
College degree preferred.
Level 2
High School Diploma or GED required.
Achievement of defined competencies of Level 1 required.
Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or ability to register within 30 days required.
