Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Designer to join our team, focusing on both the design and completion of projects. The role involves working under the guidance of the Director of Engineering and requires a strong capability in designing, developing, and analyzing both new and existing products. The successful candidate will establish processes that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures, or outcomes, and will be responsible for identifying long-term goals and designing plans to achieve them.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and analyze both new and existing products using Solidworks.
Establish processes for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures, or outcomes.
Identify long-term goals and design plans to achieve them.
Understand situational needs and establish effective action plans.
Evaluate future implications of current decisions and actions.
Communicate with the Project Engineer to decide which projects to keep in-house for the team.
Work closely with customers from the initial design stage to project completion.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Solidworks.
Experience in project management.
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Solidworks-based design role.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with multiple departments.
Strong communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hydraulics.
Automotive industry experience.
Work Environment The candidate will work within the Engineering team under the direction of the Engineering Director. The team consists of 10 people and has recently outsourced some work to India. The role involves a 50/50 split between design work and project management, focusing on custom designs. The candidate will be involved in projects that span from concept to completion, working closely with customers and the Project Engineer.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Wausau, WI.
Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $24.00 – $31.25/hr.
