Junior Specialist - Marcucio Lab
The Marcucio Lab in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is hiring a Junior Specialist for a part‑time appointment. The role focuses on the function of Sox2 in fracture healing using mouse models and molecular and histological methods. The objective is to determine the extent to which Sox2 directs chondrocytes to transdifferentiate into osteoblasts and/or stem cells during bone fracture healing.
The successful applicant will perform histological and molecular analyses, perform surgical procedures on laboratory mice to generate samples, and analyze human tissues obtained from existing surgical specimens.
Required Qualifications
Must have a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) or at least four years of research experience at the time of hire.
Applicant’s materials must list pending qualifications upon submission.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior research experience.
Salary range: $55,000 – $58,600 (see Table 24B).
Job location: San Francisco, CA.
