Customer Service Representative
Our global 3rd Party Logistics company is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative. This individual will be responsible for providing support to customer accounts, ensuring satisfaction by addressing customer support needs and requirements. Responsible for coordinating all activities associated with International Operations (Import, Export, Ocean, Air Shipments). Performs all duties in such a way as to promote internal customer satisfaction, while maintaining the high standards. The right candidate will be able to lead projects with little to no supervision. Customer Service Representative Shift: Monday Friday 1st Shift 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Customer Service Representative Pay: Starting at $21 - $26 / hr DOE Customer Service Representative Responsibilities: Execute the day-to-day shipments originated and/or handled by the operations department; prioritize, schedule and route shipments and arrange for transportation throughout the United States and internationally and obtain Proof of Deliveries (POD) on all orders. Produce all necessary documents, bills of lading, etc. Answer phones, book, and work with all shipments with carriers. Provide excellent customer service and communication with our customers and vendors. Research and respond to any agent requests. Work with vendor-specific websites to set up and track shipments. Determine routings for overseas and origins if required. Negotiate rates with carriers, vendors, and agents. Assist in the preparation and approval of rate quotes or shipment costing for internal and external customers. Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all paperwork associated with movement of inbound and outbound shipments. Ensure timely pick-ups, recoveries, deliveries, and airline and agent selection, while maintaining cost controls. Maintain accurate status updates of shipments including in-transit notifications and estimated time of deliveries; communicate daily with customers to keep them informed of changes pertaining to their shipments should an update apply or be required. Communicate pending work and/or unresolved problems to shift personnel and the operations manager. Accurately manage and maintain departmental administrative tasks such as accounting, reporting and recordkeeping in accordance with internal policies and state and federal regulations. Enter pickups and route freight, then file documents after completion. Enter new accounts and/or do maintenance on account files when needed. Entering & maintaining customer tariffs in domestic operating system Process cargo manifests, calculate charges, and coordinate all areas of freight release. Proactively solicit customer feedback and provide innovative solutions to customer service issues/barriers Must be aware of FAA Security program, packaging and crating procedures, and hazardous materials management. Customer Service Representative Qualifications: Must be able to pass a Drug test and Background check Good job stability Must have reliable transportation. Ability to work individually or with a team 2+ years of Logistics Experience Ability to use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Two years of international logistics, or related experience are required.
