Brand Art Director Job at The Trade Desk in New York

The Trade Desk, New York, NY, United States

Position Overview

Brand Art Director based in New York City to join our Creative team. A conceptual, collaborative, curious art director who works across a diverse range of global creative and design initiatives. You think in brand systems, scaling visual identity, connecting design decisions across touchpoints, and delivering cohesive, high‑quality work.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape and scale The Trade Desk’s visual brand identity — creating work that sets the standards and raises the bar across every channel and format we show up in.
  • Partner with our Brand, Product Marketing, Digital, Social and Events teams to create brand‑consistent creative across campaigns, programs, and initiatives.
  • Own the creative for a high volume of events, campaigns, and programs — from large‑scale global experiences and industry conferences to product and education initiatives like Edge Academy. Concept, art‑direct, and execute across environmental design, digital advertising, social, video, and web.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints — contributing to the development, documentation, and stewardship of our visual identity and brand system.
  • Collaborate independently and with the creative director, art directors, copywriters, designers, editors, and producers.

Who You Are

  • 6‑10 years of experience focused on developing creative work at an agency or in‑house for an established global B2B or B2C brand, with at least 2 of those years leading or concepting projects and working with senior leadership.
  • Brand thinker with a range — portfolio leads with identity and systems work, but you’re equally comfortable executing across campaigns, events, social, and digital.
  • Confident presenting your work and rationale to stakeholders — can walk a room through creative decisions, hold a point of view under pressure, and advocate for the work without being precious about it.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma, with working knowledge of or active curiosity about AI tools.
  • Strong design eye — typography, composition, hierarchy, color — with taste that shows in everything you make.
  • Organized, reliable, and talented — deliver on time, listen well, and help the people around you. Adapt without drama when creative direction shifts or scope changes.
  • Experience in motion graphics, on‑set art direction, and/or working with web developers is a plus.
