Salary: $100,000/annually, depending on experience + annual discretionary bonus
Location: 100% on-site at our Ladera Ranch, CA headquarters.

Job Summary
Senior SEO Manager — Are you looking for a role where you can put your SEO strategy skills to the test and have a significant impact on the digital marketing footprint of a growing business? SmartStop Storage Advisors is seeking an experienced and energetic Senior SEO Marketing Manager. This position will lead the SEO & GEO roadmap spanning technical SEO, local search, content optimization and off-page. You’ll translate business goals into scalable organic search initiatives, ensure SEO best practices are embedded across digital experiences, and help strengthen organic discovery while complementing paid media efforts over time. The ideal candidate will blend strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thrive in cross-functional environments, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve organic performance.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Own and manage the company SEO and GEO strategies to grow organic traffic, brand visibility and lead conversion across traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven answer engines.
- Drive technical SEO improvements across web, mobile, and app platforms, including site architecture, indexing, schema markup, and mobile optimization.
- Identify and resolve SEO issues such as duplicate content, broken links, redirecting problems, indexing errors, or other SEO errors.
- Conduct keyword, topic, entity, competitor and audience-intent research to identify growth opportunities for SEO.
- Monitor and analyze SEO performance using SEMrush, Google Search Console and Google Analytics, reporting on KPIs such as traffic, engagement, and conversions.
- Run regular SEO audits to identify opportunities for optimizations and prioritize needed updates based on impact and effort.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, revenue, creative, social media and operations teams as needed.
- Manage and periodically evaluate agency partners and SEO tools for effectiveness and explore opportunities to improve SEO/GEO performance through new relationships and tools.
- Stay current on algorithm updates, SERP changes and AI-search developments and adapt strategy accordingly.
- Establish best practices, documentation, testing frameworks and scalable workflows for SEO/GEO execution.
- Regularly report SEO/GEO performance to the executive team and other internal stakeholders in operations and marketing.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail.
- Experience leading technical SEO initiatives and working with Marketing and Revenue teams.
- Strong knowledge of search ranking factors, keyword strategy and on-page SEO best practices.
- Experience using SEO and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar platforms.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills working in a team environment.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Experience working with agency partners or SEO technology vendors preferred.
- Ability to gather requirements and data, synthesize proposed solutions and then execute on plans.
